Bainitic Steel

Wear parts in heavy industry are rarely exposed to abrasion alone. They often face repeated impact, gouging wear and section-to-section stress at the same time.

Conventional materials usually compromise: high manganese steel offers toughness but may wear quickly under low-to-medium impact; high-chrome cast iron offers hardness but has limited impact safety; martensitic steel may face property variation in thick-section castings.

Tsingbay bainitic steel uses a controlled multi-phase microstructure, where martensite, bainite and retained austenite work together. Each phase contributes a different property: hardness, toughness and plasticity.

Under impact, retained austenite can transform into martensite at the contact point — helping the material harden where it is struck. This is why the material can reach HRC ≥50 while retaining AKV ≥25 J impact toughness.

For suitable impact-abrasion applications, Tsingbay bainitic steel can deliver approximately 2× service life compared with high manganese steel, helping reduce change-out frequency, downtime and lifecycle procurement cost.

The material is supported by geometry-specific heat treatment protocols and in-house inspection, so performance is not only designed in the alloy — it is controlled through production.
